It is often said that to look back is to inform looking forward.  Girlguiding Bristol and South Gloucestershire is very fortunate to have an excellent collection of archives which is currently stored across two storage areas.  A very knowledgeable and experienced team is currently sorting through the collection to catalogue it and then, hopefully, make it available for research, traditions badges, exhibitions and other requests.

A County Archivist is needed, someone with enthusiasm, interest and very capable computer skills would be welcome rather than having extensive archives knowledge.  If you are interested in this role, please contact the This email address is being protected from spambots. Archives need to be original and scrapbooks and photo albums with un-named content are not usually as useful as original letters, clearly labelled pictures of County events and records of inclusive minority activity as well as larger scale celebrations.

Be proud of Girlguiding Bristol and South Gloucestershire's heritage, and help it to be protected far into the future.

If you have any questions for the archives team, or if you wish to borrow some of the collection, you can contact them This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

If you wish to borrow any items, please give as much notice as possible, ideally at least a month, to allow the team enough time sort out the items you would like to borrow. A donation is required each time items are borrowed.  Donations will be used towards the cost of storing and maintaining the collection.
