Hi 👋🏻 my name is Nicole, and I am going to be responsible for all things Marketing and Communications for Girlguiding BSG for the next two years. That means you’ll be seeing a lot of posts from me on social media, be receiving regular email communications about what’s going on, be invited to exciting County events and hopefully if all goes to plan see a very flashy new website! I’ll also be promoting Girlguiding externally with the aim of recruiting more girls and leaders to join our wonderful County!
A little bit about me.
I am 29 years old and work full time as a Marketing Manager for a firm of local accountants... Before working in this role, I graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a 1st class honours degree in Business Management and Marketing (all of which I hope will help me now!).
In terms of my Guiding life, I joined Girlguiding over 10 years ago to complete my Bronze D of E service element and never left! I’ve been with my local unit for all that time, 1st Olveston Brownies and whilst at Uni continued my Guiding duties becoming an assistant leader for 2nd Bramcote Brownies. Other than my weekly Brownie commitments, I’m responsible for the County Campsite, Briarlands social media and have taken on the role of Deputy Camp Chief Communications for the upcoming Avon Jamboree.
Here’s to a new challenge and hopefully making the County’s marcomms bigger and better than before 🎉
Fun fact about me: I love to travel and Girlguiding has given me so many opportunities to do this and make friends for life in the process. I’ve participated in two World Scout Moots, one in Canada 🍁 and one in Iceland 🌋, I’ve organised a Midlands international to the USA 🗽 to celebrate the Senior Section Centenary, was Communications lead on the Girlguiding UK CMT for Roverway in the Netherlands 🌷 and I’ve now signed up to be IST at the World Scout Moot in Ireland ☘️
